– New date to be announced shortly
PERSISTENT rain has left the Rising Sun Turf Club waterlogged and impossible for today’s highly-anticipated second leg of the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC) Triple Crown horse race meeting.
This left organisers with no option but to push back the second leg, which will be made public sometime this week, according to chief coordinator Nasrudeen Mohamed Jr.
According to Mohamed Jr, the organisers will decide on the new dates for both remaining legs. The third and final leg is originally billed for May 27.
Whenever the weather allows there will be heated action in the two days with a hefty sum of over $20M at stake.
Lucky patrons will get the chance to be involved in a raffle which offers very attractive prizes with the winner of the main prize driving away with a 2011 Nissan Tida sedan car.
The other prizes on offer are a 125 motorcycle, Samsung 40″ Smart TV, 2 Samsung cell phones, a stove, microwave and a refrigerator.
