AN intense rivalry is expected today when tournament favourites Berbice clash with a spirited Select Under-17 team in the final of the GCB/Hand-in-Hand 50-over Inter-County Under-19 cricket competition at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Bourda.

The well-oiled Berbice unit has been dominant in all departments of the game, a testimony to the work of the newly installed executives of the Berbice Cricket Board.

While they are a talented bunch of players, all-rounder Kevlon Anderson, Captain Kevin Sinclair his cousin, Junior Sinclair, opening batsman Alex Algoo and spinner Kevin Umrao have been in outstanding form.

Meanwhile, in an invited comment yesterday, coach Andre Percival lauded his players for their commitment and hard work over the weeks, adding that the one-day title will definitely journey to the Ancient County.
