Hours after Nichola Clark was busted while attempting to smuggle a quantity of marijuana into the Camp Street Prison , the 37-year-old woman was remanded to prison following an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’Court on Wednesday morning.
Clark, a mother of two of Durban Street, Lodge , appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore and denied that on April 17 , 2018 at the Camp Street Prison she trafficked 325 grams of cannabis for trafficking.
The woman was not represented by an attorney and was remanded to prison until May 30.
According to reports Clark was detained by prison officers after the illegal substance was found in two food boxes in her possession.

Reports are that the food was intended for murder suspect Orpheus Johnson, and was placed in a white plastic bag. The two food boxes contained plain rice and curry with a neat parcel of marijuana, while the other had cook-up rice and another parcel of marijuana.
After the items were discovered, the woman was promptly arrested and handed over to the police. She was then taken to the Alberttown Police Station.
Johnson was charged for the murder of Travis Rudder who was killed at the home of his girlfriend at Nandy Park on the East Bank of Demerara in 2015.
In that attack, the man’s young child and his girlfriend were also injured and hospitalised for a prolonged period.
