NICOLE Clarke, a 37-year-old woman was on Wednesday remanded to prison for allegedly trafficking 355 grams of marijuana into the Camp Street prison in Georgetown.
It is alleged that on April 17, at the Camp Street Prison, she had the marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the evidence presented in court by the police prosecutor, at the time of her visit, the woman was in the waiting room of the prison with a white plastic bag which contained two boxes of food.
Prison officers reportedly searched the boxes and found the drugs concealed inside the food. She was immediately arrested and reportedly confessed to the crime under caution.
The woman who resides at Durban Street, Lodge, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Bail was refused by Magistrate Fabayo Azore and the woman was remanded to prison until May 30, 2018.
