National cricketers depart for Regional Under-15 tournament

THE Guyana National Under-15 cricketers departed yesterday morning to hunt for honours in this year’s Regional Under-15 tournament which will be played in Jamaica.
The squad, who benefited from exposure in the GCB Under-17 Inter-county tournament and also a week’s pre-tournament camp, appeared high in confidence and well prepared for their competitive regional encounter.

The 14-man team, trained by CWI Level 3 coach, Winston Smith and managed by Latchman Yadram, underwent a week of intense training and preparations and seem ready to face Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Windward Islands, Leeward Islands and host team, Jamaica.

Guyana Under-15 will commence their efforts to secure the 2018 CWI Regional Under-15 title against the Windward Islands.
The Guyana team reads: Zeynul Ramsammy (captain), Jonathan Rampersaud (vice-captain), Mahendra Gopilall, Nicholas Rajpat, Mavendra Dindyal, Shamar Yearwood, Chanderpaul Ramraj, Romel Datterdeen, Jeremey Sandia, and Zachary Jodah
