EXCITING Flood-light Football action is slated for today, March 24th, at the Charity and Anna Regina Community Centre Ground, respectively.
Over to the Northern end of the Essequibo Coast, ‘Lil Indian Promotions’ will host its Annual Football Extravaganza at the Charity Community Centre Ground, commencing from 4:30 pm. Several top clubs from the Region have already entered up including: Charity Extreme, Mainstay Gold- Stars, Queenstown United F.C, Good Hope F.C and Dartmouth F.C, among other teams.
Included in the range of heated action will be a feature match between Bartica F.C and Moruca F.C which is anticipated to be a thriller. The first prize for the competition is $100,000.00 while the Runner-up will pocket $50,000.00. Among the sponsors are Stag Beer, Sun Flower Hotel, Multi-Care Pharmacy and Gutty Variety Store. Admission to the ground is $500.00.
Meanwhile over at the Central end of the Essequibo Coast, Henrietta United F.C will host Dem Amstel F.C in two evening matches commencing on today, March 24th at the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground. The host will be keen to take advantage of home soil and will be banking on the likes of Captain Devon Romeo, Sheldon Pitt, Christopher Livan and Morrison Bowen to be among the goals. The coach is Joseph Livan. The club is embarking on a strategic developmental programme and the visit by the Dem Amstel F.C is part of the calendar of activities for the year. G and P Jaigobin and Sons are among the sponsors of the matches which will kick off from 5:00 pm on both evenings. Entrance fee to the ground will be $200.00.
