Fruta Conquerors-Den Amstel clash to highlight double-header tonight

THIS weekend’s matches of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League will be held at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda due to the unplayable conditions of the Tucville venue.

Tonight’s matchup will see Western Tigers take on Cougars FC at 18:00hrs and Fruta Conquerors against Den Amstel FC at 20:00hrs.
Western Tigers will be hoping to capitalise on the match to gain the valuable three points over Cougars, which will take them to the top of the table.

In the second match of the double-header, Fruta Conquerors FC will have their work cut out against Den Amstel, who have given a reasonably good account of themselves as newcomers to the league. Likewise, a win for Den Amstel would also take them to the top of the table but with one match more than the other leading contenders.

Action will continue on Sunday March 11, Milerock United will play New Amsterdam United in the first game at 17:30hrs and the evening’s second match will bring together defending champions Guyana Defence Force and Victoria Kings.

In the first match on Sunday, New Amsterdam United, yet to pick up a win, will be looking to score points in order to break their drought so far.
The GDF will also be looking forward to tough matches, prior their departure for the Caribbean Shield. In one match they should be challenging point-leaders Victoria Kings.

Admission to all matches is $500 but all women and children under 12 years of age will be admitted without charge, according to the GFF.
