SEVERAL persons are expected to be charged today after they were apprehended in different villages on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD) in connection with a drug bust on Phagwah Day.
According to reports, they were nabbed in a law-enforcement operation which lasted some five hours. The operation commenced at De Kenderen, West Coast Demerara (WCD), when ranks swooped down at a known drug outlet.
With the use of detection dogs, the police were able to unearth some 2600 grams of cannabis stashed in a large container. Other persons were arrested in Goed Fortuin and Tuschen, where hundreds of grams of cannabis were also found.
