THE Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) has sponsored local distance athlete, Rickie Williams, as he heads to Trinidad and Tobago this weekend.

Williams is hoping to make the qualifying standard time in the 5 000 metres in his effort to represent Guyana at the March 30 to April 2 games, set for the Bahama at the Thomas A. Robinson National.

It is the view by Williams, that running in Trinidad and Tobago at their CARIFTA Games trials, will give him that competitive edge to make the time needed.
