Thirty-nine goals scored on Corona Fustal opening night

THIRTY-nine goals were scored on the opening night of the Corona Futsal tournament Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

The opening game saw Mocha edge Plaisance 5-4 with the winners benefitting from a Steffon Ramsey brace (3rd and 17th) as well as single strikes from Teon Jones (15th), Dellon John (3rd) and Kevin Agard (17th). The East Coast side’s four goals came from Akeem Thomas (16th and 18th), Kevin Liverpool (4th) and Denzil king (18th).

Future Stars were also winners on the opening night, disposing of Campbellville Extreme 6-0 with two goals from Kareem knights (7th and 9th). Assistance also came from Akeem Anthony (11th), William Europe (13th), Curtez Kellman (9th) and Marvin Carter (19th).
Albouystown were in the winner’s circle as well after beating Y.M.C.A 3-1 with Moses Griffin (3rd), Andre Webber (5th) and Melvin Ross (11th) each scoring. Wendell St Hill was on target for the losers in the first minute.

The first stalemate of the evening featured Leopold Street and Alexander Village, ending 3-3. Leopold Street had Omal Williams on target in the 17th with earlier goals being scored by Eon Allyen (2nd) and Okanie Fraser (11th). Shem Porter (11th and 19th) and Trevon Thomas (9th) were on target for Alexander Village.

Game five saw Back Circle trashing Broad Street 6-3 with braces from Selwin Williams (3rd and 13th) and Jermaine Beckles (8th and 9th) along with lone strikes by Stephan McClean (5th) and Runnel Gordon (9th). Broad Street on the other hand had Akeem Sam (14th), Shawn Mohammed (15th) and Jamaal Williams (16th).

The final game of the evening saw Sparta Boss going down to Tiger Bay 3-2 with Alpha Fletchman on target in the 6th and 7th for the winners while Deon Alfred closed the game off in the 19th.
Sparta had Jeremy Garrett and Sheldon Shepard on target in the 1st and 3rd.

Matches continue tomorrow night with six games.
