A businesswoman appeared before magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
It is alleged that Anesha Daniels, on February 19 on Durban Street, was found with two kilograms and 800 grams of cannabis in her possession
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor objected to bail based on the nature of the charge and based on the fact that the defendant had admitted that the substance belonged to her.
Her attorney, however, told the court that there wasn’t sufficient evidence that the substance belonged to his client, based on the fact that she was not at home when the police made the find. He said his client was a hard-working woman and the allegation was
going to stain her character and that she should be released on bail.
Daniels was refused bail and she was remanded to prison until March 21, 2018
