Bandits shoot,chop minibus driver 

A MINIBUS driver who was shot and chopped about his body by three men, two of whom had guns and the other a cutlass, was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the incident occurred about 18:45hrs on Friday evening at Victoria Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Investigations revealed that the victim, Alfred Braithwaite,37,a minibus driver of South Vryheid’s Lust, ECD, was standing in front of the Superbet shop when the suspects approached and demanded money; he refused, and was shot in the right leg.

The victim further alleged that after being shot he rushed into his minibus #BVV 7712 which was nearby and secured himself, but was pursued by the suspects who damaged the windscreens and windows and inflicted a wound to the right side of his face and relieved him of $14,000.

The suspects were  identified only as “Juvenile”, “Bang” and “Kevin”. They are being sought by the police.
