THE Rose Hall Town Pepsi Under-19 team began their 2018 campaign in style, whipping the Ramnarine Memorial Cricket Club by 55 runs recently at the Kennard Cricket Ground.
The match was delayed by early morning rain and was reduced to 30 overs per side. Batting first after winning the toss, Rose Hall Town Pepsi were bowled out for 174 in 29.5 overs.

National junior cricketers, Junior and Kevin Sinclair, were the principal scorers with 69 and 63 respectively. The talented Kevlon Anderson supported with 18. Kevin Sinclair’s innings included four massive sixes and five boundaries while Junior struck six maximums and four boundaries.

Bowling for Ramnarine Memorial, J. Dipnarine took 3-31 and Amar Ramnarine 3-16.
In reply, the home team was rocked early by hostile pace bowling from Anderson and Joshua Wilson and they were 16-3 at the end of the fifth over.
E. Mendonca and Rawle Park then featured in partnership of 39 for the fourth wicket before Mendonca was dismissed by Kevin Sinclair for 18.

Only Park, 20, and the aggressive Dipnarine with 33 offered any resistance as they were bowled out for 119 off 25.3 overs.
Bowling for Rose Hall Town Pepsi Under-19, Kevin Sinclair completed a fine all-round performance by taking three wickets for 18 runs, Kevlon Anderson 2-11 and Keith Simpson 2-13.

Kevin Sinclair was named Man-of-the-Match.
Meanwhile, the team last Friday handed over a financial donation to the Berbice Cricket Umpires Association towards the hosting of their annual social and award ceremony. The team also handed a trophy and a quantity of educational materials to the president of the Umpires Association, Joseph Simon.

Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster stated that the donations to the umpires were in recognition of their outstanding contributions towards the development of Berbice Cricket.
