INCUMBENT Deva Dass was re-elected unopposed as president of the Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Umpires and Scorers Association (ECPUSA), following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last Saturday at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground.

All the other members were also reelected unopposed as follows: vice president – Wazeer Mohamed, secretary – Wazeer Dhanraj, treasurer – Muneshwar Rup, Assistant secretary/treasurer/PRO – Elroy Stephney while the Committee members are Dasroy Balgobin, Cecil Ramdeen and Ramadhar Persaud.

Meanwhile, the decision was taken for Wazeer Dhanraj and Muneshwar Rup to be the body’s representatives to the Essequibo Coast Umpires and Scorers Association (ECUCA).
The Association following the elections has undertaken to increase its drive to recruit and train prospective umpires in Essequibo.

The president also urged the members to consolidate their efforts in continuing to be committed towards the profession and seek to be better informed regarding the constant changes to the laws of the game.

The sub-committees, comprising Discipline, Selection and Training, will be established at the Association’s next statutory meeting.
