A FIFTY-year-old labourer of ‘E’ Field, Sophia, was arrested by the police after 1,119 grams of marijuana was found at a shop at Pamela Landing on the Potaro River. According to the police, acting on a tip-off, ranks stationed at the Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) interior location conducted a search of the shop that he was running and found the ‘weed’ in two parcels.

The man reportedly admitted to owning the prohibited substance and is expected to appear at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
