A 21-year-old Diamond, East Bank Demerara, resident was on Wednesday charged for the murder of French Guiana businessman, Purcell Moore, who was shot and killed recently during an armed robbery at Craig, EBD,

Kevin Persaud appeared before City Magistrate Faith McGusty, charged with the indictable offence which alleged that on December 20 at Old Craig, EBD, he murdered 40-year-old Moore during the course of a robbery.
He was remanded to prison until December 29, when he is scheduled to appear before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
According to reports, the father of two was robbed of his gold chain and other jewellery. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the head during the attack which occurred one street away from his mother’s home at Craig. Reports are that the man returned from abroad several weeks ago and may have been watched by his attackers.
