QUICK action by residents of Non Pareil, East Coast of Demerara led to the arrest of a young bandit on Tuesday evening.

Reports are that a woman was making her way through a street in the area when she was attacked by two young men who relieved her of her belongings.

The woman managed to raise an alarm and one of the bandits was apprehended while the other ran away. The police were called in and arrested the bandit.

An eyewitness reported that the man’s accomplice returned to the scene sometime later for a bicycle which was left behind.

He told persons there that no one can touch him.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
