Major companies hatch innovative plan

–to make road safe over the Christmas holidays

AN innovative plan is afoot to make this holiday season an enjoyable one, and accident–free.

The plan at reference involves introducing a programme, whereby designated drivers attending events hosted by Club Rain Arena will be served their fill of non-alcoholic beverages, free of cost, compliments of Ansa McAL in an effort to ensure that everyone makes it to 2018 in one piece.

The brainchild of Club Rain’s co-owner, Matthew Persaud, the initiative was quickly adopted by some members of the business community, such as Nexgen Global Marketing, Miracle Optical, and Assuria General Insurance. Also on board is the Guyana National Road Safety Council (GNRSC) and according to Traffic Chief, Dion Moore, “These are the kinds of programmes that help the Guyana Police Force save lives and minimise losses to our citizens.”

According to Group spokesperson, Aleem Hussain: “While we are unable to dictate the manner in which people choose to celebrate, we can help to keep the roads safer by providing designated drivers as an incentive to not drink and drive.”

Club Rain Arena will be hosting several events at its Lusignan, East Coast Demerara location directly behind BM Soat Auto Spares and all proceeds from the door for their December 23 pre-Christmas event will go towards providing Christmas breakfast for the children at the Enmore Children’s Orphanage.
