Repeat offender refused bail

–for latest armed-robbery charge

A LITTLE over three months after 20-year-old Antonio Maraj was freed from a multi-million-dollar robbery charge, he has once again found himself walking up the court steps to answer to another robbery charge.
Maraj on Friday appeared before City Magistrate, Leron Daly, and was remanded to prison.

He denied that on November 2, at D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, while being in the company of another and armed with a gun, he robbed Wes Matthews of an IPhone along with other items totaling $71,000.

Police Prosecutor Richard Harris opposed to Maraj being released on bail, since he is a known character to the court.
According to Harris, the defendant is a repeat offender, and currently has four ongoing matters before the court.

The Magistrate, based upon the objection raised by the prosecutor, remanded Maraj until November 24.
