A 24-year-old Sophia man succumbed to gunshot injuries he sustained on Friday night following an argument with another man.
Dead is Jamaul Munroe, 24, a labourer of ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
According to the police, the shooting occurred at around 22:45hrs on Friday at what is known as ‘The Black-and-White Bridge’ in the said ‘C’ Field where he lived.
Initial investigations have revealed that Munroe was shot several times during an argument with the 19-year-old suspect, who was armed with a handgun, over a 32 year-old female shopkeeper of ‘D’ Field, Sophia.
Reports are that after the shooting, Munroe was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he died while receiving medical attention.
Investigations are continuing.
