GFA/Stag Premier League : Police, Riddim Squad register third round victories

—Beacons and Northern Rangers play to stalemate

POLICE and Riddim Squad both registered victories when action in the Georgetown Football Association (GFA)/Stag Premier League continued on Sunday last at the Georgetown Football Club, ground, Bourda, while beacons and Northern Rangers played to a stalemate.
Police defeated Black Pearl by a 3-0 margin and Riddim Squad edged Pele 1-0, while Beacons and Northern Rangers played to a 1-0 draw in their round three fixtures.
Rawle Haynes netted a brace for Police in the 24th and 48th minutes while Kester Dundas supported with a 79th minute goal.

Haynes’ double is his second in the tournament, as he had bagged two goals in his team’s 4-1 win against Riddim Squad on the opening day of the tournament. Dundas now has two goals to his name. His first goal was against Riddim Squad.
The lawmen has now reclaimed the lead in the points standing with nine points from three victories and has a goal difference of plus nine, having scored 10 goals in their three matches while conceding just one.

In the Beacons versus Northern Rangers match, Keon Douglas opened the scoring for Beacons with a 17th minute goal, but Nigel Denny replied for Northern Rangers with a 70th minute goal to level the score which remained unchanged to the final whistle.
This means that both teams received two points each which takes Beacons to five points from three matches. They won one, drew one and lost one and scored five goals while conceding three.

Northern Rangers on the other hand with Sunday’s two points, now moves to two points after three games. They lost their two previous matches.
In the Pele versus Riddim Squad match, Wendell Joseph found his target in the 65th minute to give his team three points which takes the team to six points after three matches. They won two and lost one and scored three goals in the process, while conceding four.

Pele on the other hand is yet to get off the mark in the points standing as they lost all three of their matches. The first was a 1-2 loss to Camptown followed by a 0-2 loss to santos.
To date, Pele has scored one goal in their three matches and conceded five for a minus four goal difference.
The tournament will continue on Friday with a double-header at the same venue.
Black Pearl will oppose Riddim Squad and Beacons comes up against Police.
