AFTER two days of competition, five teams have recorded victories in the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) STAG Premier League, which got underway last Sunday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground with a triple-header and continued on Monday with a double-header at the same venue.
In the latest set of results, hosts GFC secured a walkover from Flamingo while Santos brushed aside Northern Rangers 3-0.
The goalscorers for Santos were William Europe who netted a brace in the 22nd and 31st minutes and Orin Yarde who slotted home one goal in the 47th minute.
When the tournament got underway on Sunday, Beacon defeated Black Pearl 4-1, Camp[town edged Pele 2-1 and Police scored a 4-1 win against Riddim Squad.
In the Beacon versus Black Pearl encounter, Deron Bowen found the opposition’s net in the 25th and 45th minutes, while his team mate, Quacy McAulay netted a brace as well in the 32nd and 50th minutes.
Jason Clarke pulled one back for Black Pearl in the 56th minute.
Richie Richards scored a double for Camptown in the 52nd and 62nd minutes against Pele, while Lloyd Anderson netted for Pele in the 85th minute.
In the feature game last Sunday, Kester Dundas, Dwayne Jacobs, Shemar Fraser and Travis Jones scored one goal each for Police in the 31st, 37th, 41st and 90th minutes respectively, while Amos Ramsay pulled one back for Riddim Squad in the 76th minute.
The tournament will continue on Friday at the same venue with a double-header and continue on Sunday with a triple-header.
On Friday, Police are down to play Flamingo from 18:00hrs and Northern Rangers come up against Camptown from 20:00hrs. On Sunday, GFC will take on Black Pearl from 16:00hrs, Riddim Squad will oppose Beacon from 18:00hrs and Pele face Santos from 20:00hrs.
