Guyana Jaguars earn Tri-Nation T20 final spot

THE Guyana Jaguars have earned a spot in the final of the second annual Antigua Independence Tri-Nation T20 tournament.

The Guyanese won three matches, and will face the winner of yesterday’s match between Antigua and Jamaica.

On Wednesday, Guyana defeated Jamaica by four wickets. Batting first, the Jamaicans were bowled out for 105.
Steven Taylor made 39 and Fabian Allen 18. Bowling for Guyana, Veerasammy Permaul captured 3-8, Ricardo Adams took 2-7 while Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford and Ramaal Lewis picked up one each.
Guyana responded with 106-4 in 19.2 overs. Rutherford led with 50 while Robin Bacchus made 28. Permaul was named man-of-the-match.
The final is scheduled for Saturday from 19:00hrs at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
