15 receive GBTI bursary awards

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI) on Wednesday presented bursary awards to 15 members of its Early Savers Club who were successful at the recent National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
Senior Education Officer (Mathematics), Ameer Ali, congratulated the students and urged them to continue being ambassadors for the bank.
Ali said the students have only now begun their journeys to success and called on them to remain focused on their education while having a bit of fun.
The bank was commended for the initiative and Ali noted that the Ministry of Education was pleased to participate in the award ceremony.
Meanwhile, GBTI Senior Manager Sean Noel said the bank has always had a long and fruitful relationship with the Ministry of Education and noted that GBTI places great emphasis on education.
He disclosed that the bank has launched its Annual Calendar Art Competition and encouraged all children to enter to be a part of the GBTI 2018 Calendar.
This year’s awardees included Gabriella Roberts who secured the second position at the NGSA. Other awardees included Shelby Gomes, Leonard Grant, Leonardo Juan, Marlon Benn, Ryea Algu, Shilendra Haripersaud, Saif Khan, Bholanand Seenarine, Carey Sutherland, Oma Seeraj, Shaquan Adams, Naita Rafick, Deonarine Dukharan and Shania Andrews
