Essequibo beat West Berbice by 309 runs

SET 374 runs to win their second round Jaguars Franchise League 3-day tournament, West Berbice collapsed to a 309-run defeat at the hands of Essequibo yesterday at the Bush Lot ground.

Essequibo continued their dominant form, with a second consecutive win, dismantling the hosts for just 65 in 22.1 overs.
Only Javid Karim (20) and Arthley Bailey (12), managed to reach double figures in a disastrous batting display from the hosts.
Bowling for Essequibo, left-arm spinner Anthony Adams claimed 5-12 to complement his first innings figures of 5-35.
Earlier, Essequibo declared their second innings at 322-8. Anthony Adams completed a stunning innings of 137, with ten fours and six sixes.
Mark Williams retired hurt on 71.
Adrian Dutchin (5-90), was the most successful bowler for the hosts. Essequibo winning target was also built on a first innings lead of 51.
Meanwhile, Upper Corentyne and East Coast played to a draw at Port Mourant. However, no scores were made available between the game against East Bank and West Demerara at Tuschen.
