Banks DIH Limited, on Saturday last presented bursaries to 23 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the recent National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
The recipients at the awards ceremony which was held at the company’s Sports Club at Thirst Park were: Jada Christy Ifill, Eryn Naysa Canterbury, Christina Chisomu Oji, Akia Ruth Moore, Sarah Cynthia Manbodh, Treshontay Johnson, Pradesh Dass, Trevonna Hollingside, Latanzia Atoya Stewart, Joel Charles, Talianna Belgrave whose parents are employees, and Xavier Pratt, Kaden Conway, Savannah Ariana Pieters, Rasha Ramroop, Daniel Dowdlin, Tinisha Allen, Carlos Dey, Osmond Ward, Jabari Lovell, Jada-Marie Foo, Christina Chindu and Jermaine Jacobs., the children of shareholders.
According to a release, Banks DIH Business Development Executive, Ramesh Dookhoo, who delivered the feature address, congratulated and encouraged the awardees to the remain enthusiastic. “You must always try to do your best and even in very difficult situations it must not deter you from being successful,” he urged them.
Meanwhile, Human Resources Manager, Sharon Nelson, reminded the awardees that the Bursary Awards Scheme which has been in effect for over 40 years, “stands as a testimony to the company’s commitment to its social responsibility that our youths should be encouraged to make full use of the opportunities provided them.”
The bursaries were presented by George McDonald, Co-Managing Director/Marketing Director. Also present were Andrew Carto, Human Resources Director and other senior executives of the company.
