COMMANDER ‘A’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Marlon Chapman and other ranks on Thursday distributed school supplies in several Georgetown communities.
Also in attendance were Superintendent Phillip Azore, Community Relations Officer of ‘A’ Division and Assistant Superintendent Sonia Herbert.
The distribution started in Tiger Bay, Leopold Street, then to Broad Street before moving to Albouystown.
School bags complete with books, pencils and other school paraphernalia were some of the items distributed to the children, whose faces lit up with smiles and excitement.
The children of Agricola and other communities within ‘A’ Division also benefitted from the outreach.
According to the commander, good police-community relations are critical for crime prevention and for officers’ safety
