THE police have detained three men in connection with the recent murder of Dhanpaul Dookie called “Pauline,” who was murdered on July 24 at his home at Uitspa Village, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
According to police, the 51-year-old labourer was killed during a robbery by career criminals. The three suspects have given investigators incriminating evidence and they are expected to be charged soon.
“The suspects have all been previously charged: one with murder and his case was discharged, another has an attempted murder charge pending in the High Court and the other was charged with several lesser criminal offences,” Press Officer Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan said.
According to a police report, the murder occurred between 20:00 hrs on July 24 and 08:00 hrs on Wednesday at the victim’s address. The body which bore multiple stab wounds was taken to Lyken’s Funeral Home.
