Princes St man gets bail on drug trafficking charge

A 28-year-old man charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, was on Friday granted $50,000 bail by Magistrate Leron Daly.
Thyval Roberts, a father of two, was allegedly found in his Lot 5 Princes Street home by police with eight grams of Cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Roberts was represented by Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson who made the request of bail on the condition that the man’s wife is nine months pregnant and is expecting soon.
Police Prosecutor Corporal Harris did not object to bail but requested the condition of Roberts reporting to CID Headquarters Narcotics Branch, fortnightly, on Mondays effective from July 31, 2017 at 09:00am.
Magistrate Daly granted bail to Roberts in the sum of $50,000 along with the condition requested by Prosecutor Harris. Investigations are ongoing and the matter was adjourned until August 11, 2017.
