A 13-YEAR-OLD girl and her teen sister were among four persons committed to the High Court on Tuesday for the murder of a 64-year-old Non Pareil pensioner, whose lifeless body was found on the Coldingen Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara in 2016.

Sparendaam Magistrate, Alisha George, committed Nalini Manikram, 19; her 13 – year-old sister; 22-year-old Veeran Dias Lall, also known as Adam; and his friend, taxi driver, Devon Browne, 24, of Crane, West Coast Demerara.
The quartet is jointly charged for murdering Roger Manikram on April 3, 2016 at Coldingen Railway Embankment.
Attorneys Dexter Todd and Collette Marks represented on behalf of Browne and the 13-year-old. There was no legal representation for Nalini Manikram and her boyfriend.
The preliminary Inquiry was conducted in camera and was prosecuted by Police Prosecutor Hattie Anthony.
According to reports, Lall, who is the boyfriend of the 19-year-old, was the mastermind behind the murder. It was also disclosed that the two girls admitted to the murder during an interrogation by investigators.
It is alleged that the 19-year-old lured her father to the kitchen, where she delivered the fatal blow to the man’s head, using an axe. Then with the help of Lall, they then wrapped the body in construction plastic and dumped it on the Railway Embankment at Coldingen. Browne was the person who allegedly helped to transport the body.
The girls had initially claimed that they were verbally and physically abused by the man and also later claimed that they were also sexually assaulted by him.
