A LIAISON Officer attached to the Ministry of Public Health, charged with sexually assaulting a minor, was on Tuesday released on $250,000 bail by City Magistrate Leron Daly.

The charge against Esan Abrams, 37, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown read that between June 12, 2015 and June 22, 2015 at the National Park, Georgetown, he engaged in sexual penetration with a 14-year-old boy.

During his first arraignment before Magistrate Daly, the accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison.

But when the matter was recalled on Tuesday, Abrams’ attorney, Nigel Hughes, made an application for his client’s pre-trial liberty.

As such, the magistrate released Abrams on bail, on condition that he reports to the Brickdam Police Station every Friday. The matter has been adjourned until July 11 for the commencement of Paper Committal.
