A 16-year-old boy accused of stealing money from a minibus driver was on Monday charged.
The teen appeared before City Magistrate Judy Latchman and confessed that on June 8, 2017 at the Route 41 Minibus Park, he stole $25,000 from DeShawn Pitt.
According to the facts presented in court by Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves, the victim is a minibus driver on the Route 41 Minibus Park.On the day in question the victim had left his money inside the door pocket of his bus and went outside of the vehicle.
A few moments later he was alerted by persons nearby that someone was entering his bus. The man made checks to his minibus and saw the teen inside. The teen made good his escape but was later apprehended by the police. The 16-year-old reportedly told the police that he went into the man’s bus and stole his money.
The magistrate then ordered a probation report on the teen and ordered him to remain at the Juvenile Holding Center until June 26.
