Trophy Stall badminton tourney on this weekend

TROPHY Stall earlier this week handed over its sponsorship package for the third Trophy Stall Annual Independence Badminton Tournament, which will take place this weekend at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
The tournament will include Men’s and Ladies’ singles, and Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 age-group Boys’ and Girls’ singles. The matches will be played today from 17:30hrs to 20:00hrs, and conclude on Sunday with the last matches running from 15:00hrs to 19:00hrs.

Last year’s open men’s singles champion Narayan Ramdhani, who has been off studying in Canada, is back home and looking forward to defending his title.
The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), in a press release, extended gratitude to the proprietor of Trophy Stall for hisr continued support of badminton,
“This is the third year that Trophy Stall proprietor Ramesh Sunich has come on board to support the development of the sport of badminton.

The GBA is very grateful for his efforts in helping badminton players to once again have a great competition to show their skills and improve their game,” the release said.
Winners in each category will be presented with their prizes right after the finals on Saturday.
The Schedule for the matches is as follows:
Senior Open Men’s and Ladies’ singles:

Friday: 17:30hrs to 20:00hrs
Saturday: 17:30hrs to 19:00hrs
Under-11, U-13 & U-15 Boys and Girls singles:
Sunday: 15:00hrs to 19:00hrs
