A STRIKE from the prolific Nathan Lewis and an own goal propelled San Juan Jabloteh to a 2-0 over Racing FC in the opening match in the final round of the Caribbean Football Union’s Caribbean Club Championships in Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.
The ‘home side’ improved to four straight wins in this year’s competition after they stopped the Haitian unit to top Group B after the first round of matches.
Lewis, who scored a team-high four goals in the first round of the competition, put San Juan up 1-0 in the 50th minute. Racing’s problems were compounded when Joseph Mitchelson scored in his own net to put his side in a 2-0 hole from which they could not emerge.
Come today, Racing FC will take on Jamaica’s Portmore FC. The Jamaicans will take on the group leaders on Thursday, May 18.
