AFTER school and lessons, approximately 12 kids met with senior Library Assistant of the Lethem Library, Mrs. Desiree Boston to participate in a short training course in vase-making.

Mrs. Boston, together with another staff member Ms. Andrea Charles, taught the children, who frequented the Library, to make the vases so that they could surprise their mothers with them today (Mother’s Day).

In an invited comment on Saturday, Boston told the Guyana Chronicle that the children of Lethem and St. Ignatius Primary Schools were taught the art by using paper from an old telephone directory and also from old magazines.

According to her, just recently, they also taught the children how to do tie-dye, a training session that yielded much success.
