TWO employees of John Fernandes Limited were remanded to prison on Thursday by Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan on a drug trafficking charge after they were busted by the police during a sting operation in Tucville.

Dexter Manning, 45,of West Front Road, Georgetown and Jason Norton, 40, of ‘C’ Field Sophia, pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on April 10, 2017 at Jackson Street, Tucville, they had 884 grams of marijuana in their possession for trafficking.
Norton’s lawyer, Adrian Smith in his bail application, explained that his client suffers from several health conditions and was released from the Georgetown Public Hospital last Friday. Police prosecutor, Alwyn Moore told the court that during a sting operation, ranks intercepted and searched the motor car in which the two men were travelling.
The court heard that the narcotics were found next to Manning in the back seat of the vehicle. The prosecutor opposed bail for both men while an analyst report on the drugs is still outstanding. They were remanded to prison and will make their next court appearance on May 3, 2017,before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
