NATIONAL swimmer Lian Winter, earlier this week received sponsorship from Bounty Farm Ltd, towards her attendance at this year’s CARIFTA Swimming Championships, where she will be participating in six events.
“Bounty Farm Ltd as part of our corporate responsibility has made a financial contribution to assist Lian Winter to be able to attend the championships,” the company said in a press release yesterday.

The sponsorship was handed over to Winter’s coach Stephanie Fraser, as a smiling Winter looked on. Also present was her father Duane Winter.
The Championships, which will be held in Nassau, Bahamas from April 15 to 18, will see Guyana represented by a four-person delegation – two pool swimmers and two open water swimmers. Apart from Lian, the other pool swimmer is Leon Seaton.

Winter will be participating in the Girls’ 11-12 category where she will be competing in the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly, and 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke.
This will be Winter’s first time at the Championships, and her biggest event to date.
