SOL Guyana Inc. on Saturday conducted yet another maintenance exercise at the manatee pond at the Zoological Park and Botanical Gardens in Georgetown, as part of activities in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
A team of managers and employees from the regional petroleum company which has a local office at Lot BB Agricola, East Bank Demerara, visited the Zoological Gardens and cleaned and painted the manatee pond and surroundings areas.
In addition to maintaining the manatee pond at the Zoological Gardens, the company has also contributed to a number of charities.
A significant share of the company’s annual budget is earmarked for environmental conservation and educational initiatives and it has been involved in these projects for decades.
Sol supplies fuels, lubricants and Liquified Propane Gas (LPG) through an extensive service station network and supplies petroleum-based products to commercial customers who are involved in shipping, luxury boating, aviation, mining, trucking and fleet operations.
The petroleum marketing company is the largest in the Caribbean basin, with operations in 23 countries.
