A 21-year-old Nursery School teacher reportedly took her own life sometime between Friday last and Tuesday.  Police discovered the body of Bridgette Naraine hanging from the roof of her apartment in Mahdia, Region 8.

Commander of ‘F’ Division, Rabindranauth Budhram told Guyana Chronicle that Naraine is originally from Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara but taught at the Nursery School in Mahdia.

According to the Commander, after persons associated with the young teacher failed to make contact with her since Friday, March 10, they decided to inform the police. Police visited the young lady’s apartment and were greeted with a foul smell before observing her body hanging from the roof.

This newspaper was told that Naraine is a trained teacher and before moving to Mahdia in January, she taught at the Micobie Nursery School in Region 8 for some three months.
