GUYANA’S rich natural resources will be on showcase today in Kuwait as the government casts around for new niches in which to market its tourism product.
The occasion is the Kuwait-Latin America Cultural and Business Conference, billed for the Kuwaiti capital, Kuwait City.
Guyana’s introduction to the Kuwaiti market will be in the form of a presentation by its Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Shamir Ally, whose participation in the event is at the invitation of Dr. Mustafa Behbehani, President of the Kuwait-Latin America Cultural Group.
In a statement to the media, Dr. Ally said Guyana will be showcased as a country “with many good surprises for all interests, including birding enthusiasts.”
The presentation will also entail a video on ExxonMobil/HESS’s intention to invest US$5B here in preparation for oil production by 2020.
The statement notes that Tourism, Investments and Cultural exchanges are all very important to the development of Guyana.
