IT’S going to be a really buzzing time this weekend! Sunday is Phagwah, and everyone wants to get in on the celebrations of this religious event that has become a national phenomenon! The colour, the water, the laughter and fun will be everywhere! Of course, the biggest event remains the one that will be at the National Stadium.
It’s beginning to look like it’s going to be another pretty quiet Friday, but if you ladies want to act “Single”, you can head on down to the Palm Court to see Orlando Octave perform his soca hit, “Single”.

**Sean Major Entertainment presents Sean Major’s birthday celebration called “Black Swag 2017” at the Palm Court.
For the first time in Guyana, there will be live performances by Orlando Octave performing his hit song “Single”!
DJ Energy, Gully Ras, Diamond and Blax Bee will be shelling down the mixes! Ladies dressed in black free B4 21:00hrs.

**With International Women’s Day celebrated only a few days ago, this weekend is the perfect time to come out and celebrate womanhood!
Palm Court presents “Girl Power”, which is going to be all about the ladies! This ultimate ladies night out features Jamaica’s Ce’Cile, and local girl, Shelly G!
Spinning the tracks will be Guyana’s #1 female DJ, Anisah. Other female deejays are also going to be in da house!

**The Golden Om Dharmic Youth Organisation presents its Phagwah Mela and Bazaar, along with a Katahar Curry competition at the Rose Hall Estate Community Centre.
Enjoy dances by the Golden Om Dancers, Bhakt Prahalad, and the melodious voices of singers across the country, including Emerging Voices Season 2 Finalist, Karamchand Sugrim!
Other attractions include games, vegetarian food, face painting, mehendi and a whole lot more! Tickets are $200.
**Selector Face’s Birth-Nite is going down at the National Gymnasium, where Gully Ras and Selector Diamond, and DJ Energy are all going to be on board to help the Armageddon winner celebrate 22 years in the entertainment business. Admission is $2000.
SUNDAY
**There’s no Phagwah Festival bigger than the one set to go down at the National Stadium, where thousands are expected to flock!
Music and entertainment will be provided by the famed Shakti Strings Orchestra! See performances by Aamir Khan, Ishara Dancers, Calvin Burnette and much, much more! Admission is absolutely free!
**Carib is taking the Phagwah celebrations to the creek with “CreekJam”, a festival of colours at the Aziza Akousa (Opp. the Splashmin’s Fun Park)!
There will be free powder, beer specials, beer pong, wet t-shirt contest, Mr. & Mrs. Carib contest, Carib girls and also “Who runs the Creek” contest!
Music by Carib Deejays! So prepare to have a great time, while enjoying some ice-cold Carib!
**The Rotaract Club of Stabroek is having a Colour Run Scavenger Hunt at the Botanical Gardens.
Entry is free, and it’s open to all! Wear white and go out and get tie-dyed for a good cause. T-shirts will be provided! Start time is 09:00hrs!
**Chutney Soca Monarch 2017 winners, Ravi B and Omardath Maraj are going to be at the Palm Court for their “Festival of Colours”!
