PRESIDENT of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) Lawrence Simon says that the association is unable to bring off its Inter-Secondary School 5-a-side basketball championship, which was planned for today, due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers.

Simon in a release said the event is now tentatively set for next Friday at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court. .
He said that trophies have been acquired and other prizes are being sought for the one-day event, which will begin after 12:00hrs and involves the Linden Foundation Secondary, Linden Technical Institute, New Silvercity Secondary, Harmony Secondary, Wisburg Secondary, Christianburg Wismar Secondary and Mackenzie High.

Simon apologised to the Region Ten (Upper Demerara/Berbice) Department of Education and hopes that the event will still come off with much success next Friday.
