Firefighters are battling a fire at Fourth Street Agricola, East Bank Demerara this afternoon.

This newspaper understands that some six persons are homeless, including Mikesha Marcus and her husband; they have three children together. According to reports, no one was at home at the time of the fire and nothing has been saved from the fully furnished house.

The family noted that the fridge is the only appliance which was plugged in since they have never experienced electrical problems before.
