‘NINE years ago, the warehouse was half full, but now, we have so many products introduced to the Berbice community, resulting in the need to build a new depot at Palmyra ,’ so announced outgoing Managing-Director Ms. Beverly Harper , at an interview with the Guyana Chronicle , during her visit to New Amsterdam, where she brought Christmas cheer to orphans drawn from two orphanages in the township.‘‘We have decided to build the depot in Berbice, as Berbicians never gave up on us. The larger depo is to facilitate more products as ANSA Mc Al grows.”
The construction of the multi-million dollar edifice is scheduled to commence during 2017, and it is expected that following the tendering exercise, a Berbician will be awarded the contract, which will see several job openings for the skilled and unskilled.
Meanwhile, apart from the depot, Harper said she would be moving from being the Managing-Director of Ansal Mc Al Trading Limited , to being Ansal Ma Cal Country Head, which will see additional companies inclusive of manufacturing being added to the Ansal Mc Al family locally.
‘In the next few years two new companies will be opening …I am tasked with setting them up. It important that we get the right people in place, so we can trust them.’
Harper boasted that the employees grow with the company, and the turnover is less than one percent , as each person is given a career path from as low as the van assistant, for , we encourage them to apply for their licences so they can move up, because we believe, if you move up with the company then their loyalty will be to the company.
‘We train , we educate, we have literacy classes, we allow persons to attend CSEC classes, if they did not have the opportunity . We have persons with their MBAs, CFO, currently has six persons with their MBAs , we have three chartered accountants, one to be shortly qualified…. Everybody will have room to grow…’
