A MALE resident of Sophia was arrested and remains in police custody after a search unearthed five live rounds in his possession on Sunday night.Police in a press release said an unemployed male of ‘B’ Field, Sophia and Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown was arrested in ‘C’ Field, Sophia for unlawful possession of ammunition.

At about 23:00hrs, ranks on a mobile patrol in Sophia, observed the 28-year-old man acting in a suspicious manner and as such a search was conducted and the five live rounds of .22 ammunition uncovered on his person.

The Sophia resident is being processed for court shortly.
