A Caribbean Airlines (CAL) aircraft collided with a Fly Jamaica aircraft at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timheri early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, shortly after 7:40h the CAL aircraft – Boeing 738 – had just landed at the airport from New York, when it was instructed to park.
This newspaper understands that while parking, the wing tip of the aircraft collided with the exhaust of the Fly Jamaica aircraft – Boeing 763 – resulting in structural damage to both aircraft. The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the incident. No injuries were reported.
