THE Paediatric Department of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and the Linden Hospital Complex, were recent recipients of a wide variety of much needed medical items from Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated (FFP).
GPHC Paediatric Surgeon and Coordinator of the Baby Heart Programme, Dr Seepersaud, thanked FFP for its generosity in donating the necessary equipment and supplies that would ensure the comfort of the babies, their mothers and other relatives whenever the infants are admitted to the institution.
She further stated that the department is forever grateful to FFP, which is always willing to assist when there is a need.
Speaking on behalf of the Linden Hospital Complex, Donella Drakes, Stores Supervisor, said that she was highly appreciative of the items received and would ensure that they will be properly utilised.
Sleep chairs, cribs, mattresses, liners, basins, tables, carts and laboratory tools, among other essentials were distributed to the two medical institutions.
FFP Public Relations Manager, Wayne Hamilton said the non-governmental organisation will remain committed to helping the health sector and continue to provide medical equipment and supplies whenever items are available.
