EAST Ruimveldt businessman Eon Brian was on Friday remanded by Bartica Magistrate Delon Best for being in possession of 369 grams of cannabis.

Police allege discovering the illegal substance in a water pump the 32-year-old had in his possession as he was seated in a speed boat at Bartica, Region 7, on Thursday morning.

Police say that, acting on information, ranks swooped down on Brian as he was about to depart the Bartica Stelling in a speed boat, and conducted a search on his person and belongings, during which the illegal substance was found hidden in the water pump.

He is to return to court on December 1.
