THE police are trying to ascertain the identity of a man who was shot in the abdomen Wednesday morning in the D’urban Backlands area.

The unidentified man is currently undergoing a surgical operation at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken, said the man is under sedation and as soon as he can talk, he will be interviewed by police, to find out what happened.

He is suspected to be the victim of a robbery/carjacking.
