THE battle for supremacy in the 12-team Invitational U-19 Football League, organised and run by the Fruta Conquerors FC, is set for another double-header today at the Tucville community ground.
The opening encounter set for 17:00hrs will bring together Black Pearl FC and Western Tigers FC in Group ‘A’. At 19:00hrs, Santos FC face Linden’s Botofago FC in a Group ‘B’ match-up.
The Mining Town lads were held to a bruising 2-2 stalemate by Buxton United in their opening match played last Saturday.
Five more games are scheduled for this weekend at the Club’s venue: on Saturday at 14:00hrs, Buxton tackle GFC and at 16:00hrs, Santos FC oppose Eastveldt FC in a Group ‘A’ double-header and on Sunday at noon, Uitvlugt Warriors oppose Western Tigers FC in a Group ‘B’ fixture, followed by a Group ‘A’ showdown with home side Conquerors FC versus Order and Discipline FC at 14:00hrs. In the finale of the day at 16:00hrs, Black Pearl FC clash with Pele FC.
The top two teams of each group at the end of the round-robin league will then advance to the semifinals KO stage for a chance to qualify for the Championship game.
